Veterans Resources & Appreciation

Hosted by Councilwoman Shané Nicole Darby. Join us as we honor veterans, celebrate their service, and connect them with valuable resources.
About this Event

This citywide event will bring together veterans, their families, veterans organizations, government agencies, and community partners to provide resources, recognize military service, and strengthen connections to available support.

The event will include:

• Veterans Resource Fair: Housing, healthcare, benefits, employment, education, mental health, legal assistance, and other services.
• Veterans Appreciation Ceremony: Veteran speakers, military honors, and Wilmington City Council resolutions recognizing veterans organizations.
• Wilmington Veterans Honor Wall: Highlighting the stories and contributions of Wilmington-connected veterans, living and deceased.
• Holiday Assistance: We are working to secure 100 holiday meal packages and 100 turkeys for distribution.
• Community Outreach: Engaging veterans across all eight Council districts, including senior housing communities, churches, neighborhood organizations, and veteran service providers.
