Umoja House
About this Event
Umoja House is a weekly gathering rooted in the Swahili principle Umoja, meaning Unity. As Joe Belardo often teaches, Umoja is more than a word — it’s a practice. It’s the intentional act of coming together, listening deeply, speaking honestly, and building community through presence rather than pressure.
Each week, Umoja House (Joe Belardo) and The Academy for Peace (Rev. Dr. Ja‑Neair “Dr. Jay” Macklin) co‑host a calm, open space where conversation flows naturally and people can simply be. No performance. No expectations. Just unity in motion — the kind that strengthens neighborhoods, nurtures healing, and reminds us that we don’t have to carry life alone.
What You’ll Experience
- Grounded, ease‑filled conversation
- A welcoming circle where everyone’s voice matters
- Light creative or reflective prompts
- Space to share ideas, stories, and lived experiences
- Community connection without pressure or agenda
Why Umoja Matters
Joe Belardo reminds us that Umoja is the foundation of collective strength — unity as a lived practice.
Dr. Jay reinforces that peace is built through community, one conversation at a time.
Together, they create a space where healing becomes possible, creativity becomes collaborative, and community becomes a living, breathing support system.
Who This Space Is For
Anyone seeking connection, clarity, peace, or a moment to exhale. Umoja House is open to all ages, backgrounds, and identities.
