Veterans Job Fair

Ahead of Armed Forces Day, Pathways is hosting a job fair showcasing employers that are supportive of recruiting veterans and their families

Although exhibitors are in attendance as an opportunity to engage with veterans, because the event is held in a public place all jobseekers are welcome to attend.

Employers confirmed so far for this event at Basildon Council's employability hub Pathways include:

• Basildon Council
• Bowmer & Kirkland – construction and development group
• E.ON – energy network and infrastructure operator
• Finishing Line – supply chain specialist
• Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust – includes Basildon Hospital
• Mitie – facilities management and services provider
• Pinnacle Group – place-based management and maintenance
• South Coast Port Services – recruiting for London Gateway port, Stanford-Le-Hope
• Taylor Woodrow – infrastructure and civil engineering

There will also be training providers present to sign you up to their free courses to reskill for work in a wide range of sectors, as well as specialist construction trade courses.

On offer at the event will also be specialist advice for veterans from the DWP Armed Forces Champion and ongoing support to find work tailored for veterans from The Poppy Factory.

The Veterans’ employment and skills fair is at Pathways on Thursday 25th June, 11:00am-1:00pm, in the entrance of the Basildon Centre, St. Martin's Square, Basildon, SS14 1DL.
