Don't forget to get your tickets for this year's Veterans Day Event tomorrow from 9 am to noon in the library! We are nearing the cut-off date for purchasing since a meal will be served. You can start planning how you'll decorate your golf cart, or plan a spot to watch those who are participating. Carts will line up in the parking lot at 3 pm and begin the parade at 3:30.
At 4:30, there will be a short ceremony in the parking lot near the flags, and then we will move inside for the event.
Dinner will be served around 5:00. The meal is sliced pork tenderloin, baby red potatoes, green beans with bacon, apple sauce, & dessert.
Following dinner, we will have a short presentation on the meaning of the folding of the flag, some military humor, and then music & dancing with Tony & Trish.
This event is open to all Schalamar Residents & their guests. We hold this event annually to honor ALL those that have served in the military - Not just in the US, but Canada as well!
We are having a basket auction and the money being raised will being used to support next year's Honor Guard Flight.
Please support this event and show our Vets that you really appreciate the sacrifices that they & their families made to keep our Country safe!
There will be a cash bar.
