Get ready for one of the most anticipated matchups of the year – the 2025 Veterans Border Battle: Battle for the Axe IV is coming back on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at St. Croix Valley Rec Center!
Join us for an electrifying day of community, competition, and camaraderie as the Minnesota Sentinels face off against their cross-border rivals in a spirited game of hockey with bragging rights – and the axe – on the line. This is more than just a hockey game; it's a celebration of service, strength, and the bonds between Veterans from both sides of the border.

Battle for the Axe IV Hockey Game
Two powerhouse squads, one giant axe, and a whole lot of heart. Don’t miss this high-energy showdown!
Chuck-a-Puck Contest
Take your shot at prizes by hurling a puck at center ice during intermission – fun for all ages!
Silent Auction
Featuring incredible items and experiences donated by our amazing community supporters – from sports memorabilia to local getaways and rounds of golf. All proceeds go directly back into supporting Veterans and First Responders through the Minnesota Sentinels.
National Anthem & Ceremonial Puck Drop
A special tribute to those who’ve served and continue to serve, featuring local heroes and honored guests.
Family-Friendly Environment
Food, raffles, and more surprises to be announced – it’s an event for the whole family to enjoy.
This is a FREE event open to the public, but donations are encouraged and always appreciated. Come out, show your support, and help us continue to build community through hockey and service.
