Vestibular Yoga

If you have dizziness or an imbalance from a chronic vestibular or neurological problem, you know that movement can be difficult. Do you notice that you often avoid movement because you are afraid that it will provoke your symptoms or imbalance? Vestibular yoga is thoughtfully designed for individuals living with chronic dizziness and imbalance symptoms from vestibular and neurological conditions. This six-week program will slowly progress you into more challenging poses and balance demands in a safe, structured environment. You will also learn techniques to help calm the nervous system and improve mobility to help keep your symptoms under control while gaining confidence to move more.

Designed through a collaboration by Dana Tress, a vestibular physical therapist, and Kelley Edwards, a yoga & movement expert, Vestibular Yoga will challenge you while offering options and variations to safely perform each movement. You may join us in-person at “Be Moved Yoga” in Crystal Lake. You may also choose to participate virtually. In-person space is limited to 15 participants, so be sure to register early! Cost is $120 for all six classes. Drop ins are welcome for $20 per class. Drop ins MUST purchase tickets before showing up.

Class meets weekly on Wednesday's for 6 weeks

Equipment needed if joining virtually:

Tennis/golf balls

Yoga bricks (2) (stack of books, firm cushions, or upside-down trash can make great alternatives)

Straps / scarfs / belt

Yoga mat
