Vertebrare: Low, Loaded, Alive

The spine is more than a column — it’s the central line of communication behind all movement. In this edition, we’ll explore the movement vocabulary of the spine and study organization: how to align the spine and center of mass in relation to support points, weight shifts, and gravitational forces.

We’ll observe the spine across different planes and movement patterns — arching, squatting, hanging, lifting, and developing low gait explorations.

Rather than approaching these as isolated exercises, we’ll study spinal and global body organization as a movement language — a dialogue between structure, gravity, and awareness.

Why VERTEBRARE?

From Latin, vertebrare means “to articulate” or “to form joints”—rooted in vertebra, meaning “joint” or “spinal bone.” This word speaks to the essence of movement: the ability to adapt, to connect, and to move with integrity.

What to expect:

A blend of guided solo work, partnering games, movement challenges, and accessible education on spine to help you understand your body from the inside out.
You’ll leave feeling recharged, more mobile, and deeply connected to your spine and your whole body.

This study emerges from years of experience in physical education and deep learning with my teacher through the Ido Portal perspective — refined through my own exploration and shared with my students.
