About this Event
This year marks the Vermont Alliance for the Social Studies' 31st annual conference. With an eye towards establishing context for educating students as we mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, this year's theme will be Recognizing the 250th and Envisioning What's Next. All full participants will receive a PD certificate for 8 Hours.
Our keynote speakers will be former Vermont Governor Jim Douglas and historian Jack Kelly, author of books on relating to Vermont during the Revolutionary era. There will also be over 20 breakout sessions led by area educators on a diverse range of topics relevant to K-12 social studies educators. There will also be exhibitors representing a variety of museums, publishing houses, and other relevant non-profits. Conference admission includes admission to all sessions, wifi, continental breakfast, lunch, 1 year membership in VASS, and discounted parking. Come join over 160 area educators to network and learn new content and strategies for teaching your students. This event is also co-sponsored by the Vermont Historical Society who is offering free admission to tour the museum to all participants on the day of the conference.
