New this year, we are expanding our trips and educational events beyond just birds. This year our focus animals will be the Pronghorn and River Otters.
River otters are an important part of the Verde River watershed. Megan Isadore from the River Otter Ecology Project based in Berkley, CA will be with us on Saturday for a presentation and a few walks around the lagoons at Dead Horse Ranch State Park.
Pronghorn in Arizona have numerous organizations that have been helping to keep our herds healthy. We hope to have numerous opportunities to learn about them.
Our speakers will appeal to everyone! - Julie Zickefoose is a nature-lover in general and speaks from the heart, applying all that she learns about nature to the way we live our lives. Walt Anderson is both our featured artist and will be a featured speaker both on pronghorns and using art for conservation. Artists are sure to enjoy both of these speakers!
