Through inspiring teaching, guided meditation, and reflective practice, we will explore the benefits of generating bodhicitta in our daily lives: how selfless intention can transform our thoughts, actions, and relationships, and how it becomes the foundation for courage, wisdom, and resilience.
We will also examine the practice of reliance on spiritual guide, uncovering how humility, honest reflection, and guidance from a realized teacher support the unfolding of wisdom and the deepening of compassion. Participants will engage in practical exercises and meditations designed to integrate these principles directly into their practice and daily life.
By blending philosophy, contemplative reflection, and experiential meditation, this retreat offers a living approach to the Bodhisattva’s way—transforming understanding into heartfelt action. Ideal for intermediate practitioners seeking to strengthen their foundation in compassion, wisdom, and mindful awareness, this weekend provides both inspiration and practical tools to cultivate an awakened heart.
The classes will be recorded (audio and video) and provided for those who registered for the event. Venerable is onsite at Maitreya Instituut, the Netherlands.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Ven. Amy MillerAmy J. Miller (Ven. Lobsang Chodren) first encountered Tibetan Buddhism in the spring of 1987 during a course at Kopan Monastery in Nepal. Since then, she has spent a great deal of time engaged in meditation retreats, study, teaching, and Buddhist center management throughout the world. Prior to meeting the Dharma, Amy was a political fundraiser in Washington, DC and worked for Mother Jones Magazine in San Francisco, California. Amy was ordained as a Buddhist nun in June 2000 by the great Tibetan master, Ven. Choden Rinpoche, and has been teaching extensively since 1992. Amy’s courses and retreats focus on establishing and maintaining a meditation and mindfulness practice, death and dying, overcoming anxiety and depression, battling addiction, dealing with self-esteem issues, and cultivating compassion and loving kindness. She is also often involved in leading a variety of retreats. Venerable is the co-author of Buddhism in a Nutshell – and a contributor to Living in the Path, a series of online courses produced by FPMT.
