About this Event

Gardens have always had an important place in poetry: their beauty and ability to nourish us inspires the poetic mind. In this workshop, the latest in our series of poetry workshops with Professor Jesse Curran, focuses on gardens, vegetables, and everything that goes with them.

Curran says, “In this workshop we will turn to the edible summer bounty to generate poems and learn more about the ancient tradition of poetry that explores the relationship between food, labor, and ecological being.”

Jesse Curran is a Mother, Teacher, Poet, Essayist, Scholar, Art Lover, Long Islander, Yoga Educator, and Gardener/Environmental Humanist. She teaches poetry at SUNY Old Westbury.
