Swami Arupeshananda is from the Southern California area. He received mantra diksha from Swami Aseshananda in 1979. He attended school at UCSD and UCLA, and after a brief post-doc in phyiscs, joined the monastery in Trabuco in 2002. He received brahmacharya vows from Swami Swahananda in 2008, and sannyasa vows from Swami Atmasthananda in 2012.
