Do you love the old jazz standards and want to build your confidence and learn to sing them like the pros?
Vancouver Vocal Jazz Lab is a NEW weekly drop-in class with an innovative structure to include beginner to advanced vocalists who want to deepen their skills and knowledge in a playful, supportive environment — no pressure, no auditions, no perfection, no performance.
Each 90-minute session is a stand alone creative vocal workout focused on:
• Singing root–5th–3rd–7th movements in harmony
• Exploring how melodies land on top
• Rephrasing, scatting, and soloing (if you want!)
• Learn by doing — embodying thru repetition. Jazz forms and feels will become second nature in no time!
You’ll strengthen your ear, build musical confidence, and internalize jazz theory through somatic, embodied practice. It’s like a yoga class for your jazz brain — work at your own pace and enjoy the process.
Whether you’re new to jazz or have been dabbling for years, this is a welcoming space to explore, learn, and sing with other jazz lovers!
Founded and facilitated by Sandi Melody – professional vocalist, choir director, and private vocal coach with 30+ years of experience helping singers grow their skills and fall in love with their vocal artistry.
