Requirements
- You must already be registered with a Canadian speed skating club that provides insurance. (All SSBC clubs qualify.)
- You must bring your own speed skates and required safety gear.
If you don’t meet these requirements, your ticket will be cancelled.
How to Sign Up
Buy a ticket for the session you want.
The posted time is for the full practice, but each level has its own on‑ice slot.
All sessions are at Kitsilano Rink (2690 Larch St).
Weekly Schedule
Wednesdays
- 4:30 pm – Beginner
- 4:55 pm – Intermediate, Advanced, Masters
Saturdays
- 6:00 am – Ice time starts
Sundays
- 5:30 pm – Beginner
- 6:30 pm – Intermediate, Special Olympics
- 7:45 pm – Advanced/Masters
Holidays & Pro‑D Days

Skater Levels
- Beginner: Age ≤13, 400m > 50s
- Intermediate: Age 9–13, 400m < 50s
- Advanced: Age 14–18, 111m track
- Masters: Age 19+, basic skating ability, 111m track
Spots & Waitlists
- Each date has limited drop‑in tickets.
- When tickets sell out, no more spots are available.
- Sales close 1 minute before the event ends.
- If a date is full, join the waitlist. If a spot opens, you’ll get an email and have 2 hours to claim it.
Refunds
- Cancel at least 1 full day in advance for a refund.
- No refunds for late cancellations.
- If the event is cancelled, you’ll be refunded minus the Eventbrite fee.
Arrival
Show your drop‑in ticket to a coach or board member when you arrive. They’ll sign you in and explain any protocols.
