Vancouver College Alumni Flag Football League

The inaugural season of the VC Alumni Flag Football League will take place over four Thursday evenings in April and May and is intended for VC Alumni of all ages. Register as an individual and the committee will devise mixed teams based on grad year and skill level.

For this first season, the goal is to build connections between different years and generations of Vancouver College Alumni through recreational flag football games leading up to the 37th Annual May Fair football game. The mixed team approach will drive connection between generations and keep the play competitive. Depending on interest, the league may expand into competitive and recreational divisions in future seasons.

Football Format:

Gametime: Kickoff 6:30 pm

Game Format: 2x 25 minute half, 1x 10 minute half time

Rules:

• 5/side with one rusher on defence set 5 yards from the line of scrimmage
• Offence starts from goal line
• • 3x tries to advance 20 yards
  • Option to punt on third try / flip the field to opposing side
• 3x tries to score in the red zone (second half of the field)
• Turnover on downs results in opponent possessing ball from goal line
• Interception / fumble recovery plays from the spot returner is downed
• First player to touch ball from offensive snap cannot pass LoS

Teams will include 10-15 Alumni depending on interest and attendance each week will not be mandatory. Teams will be created and the Committee will orchestrate introductions through a team captain.

• Saturday, May 11, 2024 - MAYFAIR - 1:00pm

Cost:

$30 - Alumni Flag Football League (4x games)

$60 - Alumni Flag Football League + 37th Annual Mayfair Alumni Flag Football Game (Includes T-shirt, burger and beer)
