Join us for a dance with live music by Kingfisher and caller Alexandra Deis-Lauby!
Kingfisher is a Boston-based contra dance band, consisting of Jeff Kaufman, multi-instrumentalist, anchoring the duo from the piano, as well as mandolin and a number of innovative electronic instruments he created himself, providing the duo with bass and drum grooves — all of which gives Cecilia Vacanti opportunity to wow you with intense fiddling renditions of tunes across the spectrum, surprising even the most seasoned listener with a genre-bending playlist that is absolutely breathtaking.
Caller Alex Deis-Lauby is a NYC based caller, dancer, and organizer. Her clear teaching, smooth voice and fun dance selections delight dancers coast to coast.
No partner needed. Beginners welcome. All dances are taught by the caller and danced to live music.
Contra Dance Instruction for new dancers at 7 p.m.
Contra Dance 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Admission: Sliding scale: $8 (students or low-income individuals), $15 (friends) $20+ (supporters), accepting cash, check or paypal
Children aged 12 and under are admitted for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
1. VACCINES AND MASKS are optional at this time. Vaccinations are encouraged but not required.
2. BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE. We will have our yellow jug with water available but no cups.
3. SNACKS ARE WELCOME and encouraged at intermission. Bring finger food to share with other dancers.

5. Please carry in clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.
There is a parking lot behind the church on 3rd Ave and plenty of on street parking as well. Enter the building on Prospect St. Dancers, please bring NON-MARKING, SOFT-SOLED SHOES to protect the beautiful wooden floor in our venue. We have free socks to put over your street shoes if needed.
