Valentine’s with the JSO promises an enchanting evening, featuring Romantic favorites of Music Director Matthew Aubin. This program, featuring cellist Julian Schwarz, takes you on a journey through time. Schwarz’s interpretation of Variations on a Rococo Theme and Andante cantabile captures the classical grace of Tchaikovsky. Inspired by Mozart, the concert concludes with Franz Schubert’s Fifth Symphony, rounding out an evening where the past meets the present in a symphony of love.

Keep the celebration going after the baton is down and the instruments are put away. Following Saturday evening concerts, these events are a great opportunity to mingle with musicians, guest artists, composers, other symphony fans, and of course, the Maestro. All are welcome at this event and the $20 ticket buys you entry, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks.

Parking Information/Handicap/Wheelchair Accessibility details:
Parking- There is no designated parking lot for the event, but many do not struggle to find parking. Parking on the street is free with no time restrictions in downtown Jackson after 5pm, with free 2-hour parking before 5pm. There are some marked handicapable parking spaces on the street located on Michigan Ave and on Jackson Street within view of the venue. There is no valet parking for this event.
For carpooling handicapable attendees: you have permission to unload in the alley next to the building, HOWEVER you must immediately move your vehicle to a different parking spot after unloading to allow space for others to do the same.
From the car to your seat- Sidewalks are wide in downtown Jackson and gently slope down into crosswalks for easy travelling. Our doors have handicap buttons to open doors automatically. The hallway is wide and easy to maneuver. The distance to travel once in the building is quite short. Weatherwax Hall is on the ground floor so no stairs or elevators are needed for main floor seating. There is a balcony view as well, available only to those who can use the stairs.
Seating- Seating is first come, first served, by section. If you cannot climb stairs, please let a staff member know and we will accommodate you by seating you on the ground floor in Section A or B. There will be individual seats set up in row formation. All seats are moveable so it is easy to adjust and make room for a wheelchair. Flag down a volunteer or JSO member to remove a chair for you if needed. We're happy to help!
Elevators- There are no elevators needed since Weatherwax Hall, the bar, and the bathrooms are located on the ground floor. If you would like a balcony seat, this can only be accessed using the stairs.
