Valentine's Day Pottery Date Night

Join us for a special Valentine's Day evening filled with creativity, connection, and fun! Whether you’re bringing a date, a friend, or treating yourself, this workshop is the perfect way to unwind, sip on a drink, and explore the art of pottery-making.

About This Event:
Recently featured in Miami New Times' "11 Best Valentine's Day Events in Miami," our Cocktails & Clay night promises an unforgettable experience. Under the guidance of our expert instructors, each participant will create up to two pottery pieces on the wheel. You’ll learn how to:

• Center the clay
• Pull up walls
• Shape your piece into a cup, bowl, dish, or vase
• Use essential pottery tools
• Set up and clean up a potter’s wheel

What’s Included:

• Price: $220 per couple
• Duration: 2 hours (Instructor-led class)
• Materials & Services:
• • All clay, tools, aprons, and supplies provided
  • Two firings and glazing included
  • Studio tech assistance for glazing your chosen color
  • Courtesy text notifications for pickup once your pieces are ready

• • Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Cocktail snacks, cheese, crackers, and pastries

The Process After Your Class:
Your pieces will undergo a two-step firing process:

1. First, they’ll dry completely before being fired into bisque ware.
2. Then, our studio techs will glaze your work with the color of your choice and complete a second firing.

Please allow 2-4 weeks for this process. You’ll receive up to two courtesy reminders for pickup once your pieces are ready. After two weeks, unclaimed works will be donated.

About Mercado Art Studio:
Located in the heart of Hallandale Beach, Mercado Art Studio has been a cornerstone of the local art community for over seven years. Our studio offers:

• Beginner classes in wheel throwing, handbuilding, pottery painting, and mosaics
• Four- and eight-week courses for in-depth learning
• Monthly memberships with 24/7 access, personal lockers, and firing services
• A gallery showcasing beautiful pieces by our members, as well as clay and tools for purchase

With plenty of free parking in front and behind the studio, we’re conveniently located just east of I-95.
