About this Event
If you have ever seen the iconic 90's film "Ghost" then you've probably always wanted to have your romantic moment on the pottery wheel. Well, TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! In this pottery workshop, the clay will be wedged out for all of the couples and seating will be altered for comfort and efficiency. Couples will see demos, be guided through the process, and have the opportunity to try making a couple of pots together. You'll learn centering, opening, and pulling walls, in addition to meditative breathing and bodily control. The vibe will be inviting, fun, silly, and relaxing - with lots of 90's references and innuendos! haha
The goals for the night are to explore a new art form, have fun, and bond as a couple! Ceramics is one of the most meditative mediums, connecting us with ourselves, the earth, and all elements. Enjoy each other's company on a Valentine's Date Night that lets you get just a little dirty! ;)
Usually, workshops are $75/person and everyone gets their own wheel, however, this workshop is unique in that 2 people will share one wheel. To accommodate each ticket purchased is $120 for a couple! Yes - you got that right - we're giving a price break for the holiday; what can we say, our family-run business loves a good romantic night!
THIS WORKSHOP IS 19+! Due to the romantic nature of this workshop, no one under the age of 18 should be participating. Please see any of our other workshops and classes for youth options. Thank you!
Your pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 3-weeks after the event (or can be shipped to you for an additional $10 fee). Pottery/ceramics needs to be fired in a kiln twice (once for bisque and the second for glaze) which takes multiple days. Once glaze fired the pieces will be non-toxic and safe to use for drinking, and eating; they can be put in the dishwasher and microwave but NOT in or on the stove. Both firings are included in the workshop fee and you get to pick how you want your piece to be glazed (colored) in the end!
Note: Shahane will be the instructor! She has taught pottery since 2016, got her BFA in ceramic arts in 2015 with a double minor in art history and psychology, and owns Pudgy's Place with her husband Phillip :)
