VALENTINE Read Aloud + Animal Scavenger Hunt at Huizenga Park

Join us for a special outdoor Read Aloud experience as part of our Community Market and early kickoff to Reading Month.

This interactive storytime is designed to encourage:
📖 early literacy
💛 connection through storytelling
♻️ sustainable, low-cost community programming

We’ll begin with Love You Hoo, followed by Animally — a beautifully written book that explores different ways we express love using animals and descriptive words like hugely, cleverly, and shyly.

During the reading of Animally, each animal will be displayed on a board, creating a classic library-style storytime experience kids love.

After the Read Aloud, children can participate in an Animal Scavenger Hunt around the park and market.
Animals from the book will be hidden throughout the space, encouraging exploration, movement, and continued engagement with the story.

Scavenger hunt sheets will also be available at the booth for families who arrive later or miss the live reading.

⏰ 12 PM arrival time but will start around 12:15-12:20 to give a grace period
