The Valencia Baryton Project, formed by colleagues from Valencia’s Palau de les Arts and Orchestre Nationale de Montpellier, aims to perform nearly 160 works by Franz Joseph Haydn for the baryton and compositions by other classical and modern composers. Led by Matthew Baker, one of few baryton performers, they have delighted audiences across the Americas and Europe with their traditional baryton trio. Their work has been praised for its inventiveness and masterful interpretation by publications like The Strad and Radio U Chile. Featured in media such as Berklee Now, BBC 3, and Arizona Public Radio, they released Naxos Records’ first baryton CD in 2021, acclaimed by critics and included in Gramophone’s top 20 Classical charts. Members have performed with ensembles and orchestras worldwide, and collaborated with artists like Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso.The Reif: Ives Theater at 2pm
