About this Event

Watersafe Stand Up Paddleboarding for Neurodivergent Youth

Vale of Glamorgan | Age 8–18 | FREE Session

This inclusive outdoor session is designed for ALN and neurodiverse children and young people aged 8–18. This event is funded by The Vale Council Sports Team, so Vale of Glamorgan residents will be given priority.

The Outdoor Partnership has teamed up with Kerry from Island SUP to deliver a fun, supportive Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) experience, suitable for both beginners and intermediate paddlers. The session focuses on enjoyment, confidence building, and developing coastal and water safety awareness in a safe and encouraging environment.

What to Expect

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn SUP basics, including balance, paddling strokes, equipment use, and safe movement on coastal waters
  • Develop coastal and water safety awareness, supporting confidence and decision‑making for summer water activities
  • Enjoy supported time on the water with plenty of encouragement and confidence‑building activities
  • Take part in rock pooling and beach exploration, learning about the rocky coastal environment, tides, and shoreline safety

To ensure all participants are comfortable and supported, groups may be split by age or ability for certain activities.
