The Valais Blacknose West Coast Regional Sheep Show will take place Friday at the Black Sheep Gathering in Albany, Oregon, offering a dedicated, breed-specific show focused on traditional Swiss Valais Blacknose standards.This Regional Show will include both Purebred and Breed-Up classes, creating space for the full spectrum of Valais breeding programs while maintaining a clear emphasis on correct type, structure, fleece, and overall breed integrity. Animals will be evaluated with attention to the historic Swiss standard, supporting transparency, education, and thoughtful genetic progress within the breed.
Designed for breeders, newcomers, and serious Valais enthusiasts alike, the West Coast Regional provides a professional, educational ring experience and a meaningful opportunity to showcase animals in a focused Valais-only environment.
The show is followed on Saturday by the Purebred Valais Blacknose division at the Black Sheep Gathering, giving exhibitors additional exposure and ring time as part of one of the country’s most beloved fiber and livestock events.
