UtT LiDAR Review Session

Join AOC for a collaborative workshop where participants have the chance to share and review archaeological sites they’ve discovered using the Uncovering the Tweed LiDAR webmap. This session is designed for those who have attended previous workshops, and are looking to refine their interpretation skills, validate findings, and engage in review discussions.

In the initial LiDAR wokshops, you will have learned how to use identify sites in the landscape within the LiDAR webmap. This is an opportunity to work alongside experts to interpret and assess your findings.

This workshop will guide you through:

• Presenting and discussing your own LiDAR discoveries with the group
• Learning to verify and validate features
• Tips for distinguishing between natural and human-made features
• Working with historic maps and records to contextualize findings
• Developing strategies for planning field visits and ground-truthing your sites

This interactive session is ideal for those who have previously attended a LiDAR workshop or have been exploring LiDAR data on their own. Whether you’ve found something significant or are unsure of what you’re seeing, this workshop provides a supportive environment to explore your findings and enhance your skills in archaeological interpretation.

Participation is free, but registration is required. Bring your discoveries, questions, and curiosity!
