About the Speaker
Mike Mellace was born to immigrant parents in Rome, New York and began work in the family corner produce store at the age of 6. Mike attended SUNY Brockport, obtaining a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Accounting. He then went on to receive his CPA license, as well as an MBA Degree from the University of Phoenix. In 2001, Mike co-founded Mama Mellace’s, a small almond-roasting side business, which grew into Mellace Family Brands, a nationally branded, specialty snack food manufacturer and marketer. In February 2011, Mike sold the company to a company called Johnvince Foods, who is the largest snack food provider in Canada. In 2012, Mike started Risen Foods, a food distribution company and also in 2016 started Risen Auto, a used car dealership based in Rome, NY.
Mike’s integrity and work ethic propelled the company’s growth, placing it on the Inc. 5,000 list of the Fastest Growing Companies in America in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Mellace also earned Entrepreneur of the Year award recognitions from both the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and Ernst & Young as a finalist for San Diego in 2007. In 2010, he received the Center for Wealth and Legacy’s Inspiration Award.
Mike Mellace is committed to make social responsibility a top priority. He was the executive Director of The Mama Cares Foundation, and recently founded Affect One ministries. Affect One helps children and families interested in adoption around the world.
Mike has co-hosted a radio show called Workplace Revival whose purpose is to encourage Christians to be examples for Christ in the workplace. He has also been asked to speak around the world for various organizations, including Campus Crusade for Christ, Global Advance and numerous other churches.
