Leave and Accommodation Laws: What In‑House Attorneys Need to Know
Host: Lana Steven, AVP and Senior Compliance Counsel
Info: Join us for a practical CLE on the laws governing employee leave and workplace accommodations, including the FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and comparable state laws. We’ll cover the core requirements, key differences, and frequent areas of overlap that often create difficult compliance questions for in-house counsel. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for advising clients, responding to employee requests, and reducing legal risk.
Using real-world scenarios, this session examines common pitfalls, including when leave is required, how to manage intermittent leave, and how to navigate the interactive process when an accommodation is requested. Designed for in-house attorneys who work closely with Human Resources and leave management teams, the program emphasizes early risk spotting, asking the right questions, and guiding the business toward consistent, defensible decisions that help prevent litigation.
