USU Extension Master Gardener 2025 - Wasatch and Summit Counties

What: The Master Gardener program is an in-depth, research-backed course on all things gardening. It is a county-based program offered through USU Extension, and consists of one-part education, one-part service. To become a certified Master Gardener, both education and service components are required. Those just interested in the education aspect are welcome to sign-up as well. Hands-on workshops will also be held throughout the season (March - October). An orientation meeting will be held on March 4 at 6pm. While this course is quite extensive, NO PRIOR GARDENING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Classes will be online, combined with Salt Lake County, and focus on principles tailored to Utah growers. Hands-on workshops and classes will be focused more specifically on gardening in Wasatch and Summit Counties.

When: March 11 - April 24, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm - 7:30pm. Hands-on workshops/classes/workdays will be held on days and at times when the maximum number of individuals are available (survey of availability in this registration form). Hands-on activities will be held AT LEAST monthly throughout the season, but often there will more than one event each month.

Where: Online via Zoom. Classes are recorded for later viewing if unable to join live. The USU Extension office in Heber City will also be open for those who want to watch the livestream together. Hands-on workshops, service opportunities, and workdays will be held at various locations around Wasatch and Summit Counties.

Cost: Earlybird - $160 + eventbrite fees (Ends February 1 at 11:30 pm MST)

Regular - $200 + eventbrite fees (Ends February 25 at 5:00 pm MST)

If you would like to avoid their fees, feel free to come to the USU Extension Wasatch County office (55 South 500 East, Heber City, UT 84032) to pay and register. Unfortunately, we are still in the Stone Age and accept only cash or check. Our office is open M-F 8:30am - 5pm, but it's best to shoot me an email to make sure someone will be in.
