Welcome to the 2024 Kosen National Championship. The Kosen ruleset is unique and aims to provide an even playing field for Judoka, BJJers, Wrestlers, Sambo fighters etc. to compete together. The Rules can be found at: New Proposed Kosen Judo Rules (usja.net)This year, the Kosen Nationals will include a seminar with Rhadi Ferguson on Saturday, and the Kosen tournament on Sunday, and both will be FREE to USJA members. An annual or lifetime USJA membership is required for participation. An annual membership costs $75 (with family discounts available!) and can be acquired at United States Judo Association (usja.net). USJA membership not only includes the right to be promoted in Judo and to receive certifications through the USJA, but it includes individual injury insurance.
For the tournament, Senior men's, women's and master's divisions will be single elimination. An additional open weight men's, women's, and master's division is available. All other divisions will be double elimination. All competitors must wear a white BJJ or Judo gi.
Registrations close on 11/2/24. There will be NO exceptions. Registration changes can be made until 11/3/24. Brackets and start times will be available by late 11/4/24. Registration is available at https://smoothcomp.com/en/event/19320
For the seminar, US Olympic Judoka, ADCC veteran, and Strikeforce MMA veteran Rhadi Ferguson will be offering free kids and adults' seminars. The kids seminar will run on Saturday from 2-3 pm. The Adult seminar will run from 3:30-5:30 pm. There will be a USJA public board meeting at 11 am.
