About this Event
Professional Training, 3 Category 1 CEUs*
Live, interactive Zoom training
Overview
Student athletes are increasingly experiencing internal and external pressure to perform at elite levels which often results in stress, anxiety, injuries, hitting training plateaus, and burnout. Learn techniques used by therapists to help student athletes increase mental health in the context of the sport. Athletes who adopt these strategies report increased performance, fewer injuries, better outlook, and more time in the “flow” zone of performance. Participants will leave this training with specific interventions to use with clients right away.
Objectives
- Participants will strengthen their ability to assess student athletes’ mental performance skills
- Participants will be taught evidence-based techniques to improve athletes’ mental performance
- Participants will deepen their appreciation of how contextual factors impact athletes’ performance
- Participants will be able to better evaluate how personality and family factors effect performance
