The Motus Wildlife Tracking System allows researchers to track the migratory movements of small birds as they fly across the Americas. Come learn about the Motus system and the birds that migrate through Mines of Spain each spring and fall. We’ll hear from Iowa DNR Avian Ecologist, Anna Buckardt Thomas, about the network of Motus stations in Iowa, and hear individual stories about the birds detected by the Motus station at E.B Lyons. Free program open to all ages. Motus system was donated by Dubuque Audubon, Friends of the Mines of Spain and Friends of Dubuque County Conservation partnership. Help us celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the EB Lyons Center with programs and special events all year long.
