Use Your Imagination Luncheon 2024

The Use Your Imagination Luncheon directly supports the Lake County Imagination Library. This year's event will feature a fireside chat with the author of the children's book SymFUNNY, Jeannie Fleming-Gifford, MA .

Jeannie is currently the Director of Development for Andrews Osborne Academy. A non-profit executive, educator and writer whose expertise includes maximizing growth and impact of mission driven programs through innovative partnerships and programs, successful fundraising, budgeting, grant writing and donor relations, strategic marketing, and leadership of diverse teams of people. Jeannie has a M.A. and B.A. from The University of Akron, and is a graduate of the Cleveland Bridge Builders Leadership Training Program and Leadership Lake County.

Published author ("SymFUNNY" children's book published November 2020, "The Gift I Never Wanted" memoir published July 2021), freelance writer and blogger.

The fireside chat will be facilitated by Claire Rosacco, the Vice President of Government Relations and Community Outreach at Cuyahoga Community College. Clair also serves as a Board member for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Ohio.

Launched in 2020, Lifeline’s Lake County Imagination Library is an affiliate of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. To improve Kindergarten readiness, instill a love of learning, and bolster literacy rates, the program mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they turn five, no matter their family’s income.

Research has shown that children with 25 books in their homes complete an average of two additional years of schooling compared to their peers without books in their homes. Our goal is that every kindergartener begins school with 60 books in their home. As of September 2024, books are mailed to nearly 7,000 Lake County children.
