USAGSO STEMinist Sparks & Speed: In Person Automotive Robotic Adventures

Ready, set, GO! Girl Scouts in the Middle East, join STEMinist host Erin Twamley for a day of designing, building and programming robots with a special automotive twist! It’s time to get curious, ask questions and problem-solve... in person!

In this 4-hour in-person STEMinist event, you’ll explore the world of robots, dive into the science of speed, and harness the power of the sun. Discover how both robots and cars move (and stop!), what makes them zoom faster, and how energy powers the future.

You’ll get to:

🤖 Design and build your own robot to take home
🚗 Manufacture and race your own balloon-powered car
👩🏾‍🔬 Meet STEM Superheroes from the NYU Robotics Department and take an exclusive tour of their robotics lab
🔧 Design and test a LEGO® race car
☀️ Build and paint, a take-home solar-powered car
🍪 Enjoy a delicious STEM-inspired snack

Every participant will receive the STEMinist fun patch, robotics rocker, and automotive rocker, a snack, a make-and-take solar-powered car and robot, and access to our virtual STEMinist series for the membership year—all for just $35.

• Check-in will open at 8:45am. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. Please be on time! The event ends at 1:00pm.
• The $35 registration fee for this program covers all supplies, the STEMinist fun patch and rockers, a take-home car and robot, and a snack.
• Additionally, your registration fee also includes complimentary registration in our year-long, virtual Program Series. Already a Program Pass holder for the virtual STEMinist series? You should have received a discount code for this in-person session. If you didn't, please reach out to us at [email protected].
• This is a drop off event. We are unable to accommodate parents and tag-a-longs. However, we do need adult volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please be sure to add a Volunteer ticket to your order. If you don't see don't see any Volunteer tickets availiable, all roles are filled.
• This event is open to Girl Scout Daisies through Cadettes. Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to register and attend in one of the volunteer roles!
• A confirmation email with event details will be sent 1-week prior to the program to the email address provided during registration.
