Dr. Ram Seetharam

Executive Director, ROICE Program, University of Houston

· Retired Senior Executive at ExxonMobil with nearly 40 years of experience in the Upstream industry and 33 years with ExxonMobil.

· Currently serving as the ROICE (Repurposing Offshore Infrastructure for Continued Energy) Program Executive Director at the University of Houston; managing 3 M$+ of research projects on repurposing, offshore renewables and CO2 sequestration

· Providing consulting on business development and techno-economics of CCS (carbon capture and sequestration) projects as founding member and managing partner at Energex Consultants.

· Broad Upstream experience including subsurface, concept selection, project and oilfield economics, asset valuation, research, multi-functional team management, technical support to major capital projects and proven leadership skills.

· Multiple leadership positions managing and influencing multi-billion-dollar upstream projects in the industry around the world, including in Kazakhstan, Russia, North Sea, Middle East and Unconventionals.

· Recognized as “Distinguished Engineering Alumnus” in 2020 by University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering.

· Ph.D. and Masters in Chemical Engineering from University of Houston; Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
