About this Event
During the Cuban missile crisis in October 1962, communications technology was far more limited than it is today. At a time when messages were not instantaneously exchanged, the nature of communications was especially important. Because of the enormous danger posed by the Cuban missile crisis, when the world cam close to nuclear war, we need to understand how the leaders of the Soviet Union and the United States were able to keep the crisis from spinning out of control.
