About this Event

Join us for a special Uruguayan Family Film Series at Saint Paul University, featuring two animated films for children and families: Anina and Becho.

Presented with the support of Saint Paul University and the Embassy of Uruguay in Canada, this free, non-commercial film series offers audiences the opportunity to discover contemporary Uruguayan animation through stories that are imaginative, warm, and accessible to viewers of all ages.

The program includes Anina, a charming story about a ten-year-old girl whose unusual palindrome name makes her the target of teasing at school. After a fight with a classmate, Anina receives a mysterious punishment that leads her to reflect on friendship, growing up, and finding her place in the world.

The series also presents Becho, a recent Uruguayan animated film inspired by creativity, music, and the spirit of La Cumparsita. Through the story of a child with a special sensitivity to artistic energy, the film invites families to explore imagination, talent, and the universal power of music.

Both screenings are suitable for family audiences. Admission is free, but registration through Eventbrite is required.
