About this Event
This training will help you to understand our goals for this season, and more about why we do things the way we do.
This particular training session is a broad intorduction to digging. It will introduce you to working safely on site, some of the basics about the site itself, and some archaeology tips which will help you understand what we are doing on site and why.
The training will introduce you to the basics, and is designed mainly for first time diggers, though all will find it of benefit.
This will include:
- Why we are digging where we are digging
- Research Objectives
- Glossary of archaeology terms
- Staying Safe on Site
- Dig Etiquette
- Knowing your Equipment
This training is particularly of interest to people who have a BAJR Skills Passport and want to further their skillset.
The training will be held be held in Carlisle City Centre at a location to be confirmed.
Tea/Coffee will be available.
