'Urban Wineries' English wine tasting event (Chelmsford)

Discover a different side of English wine at this guided tasting, showcasing seven wonderful wines crafted in urban wineries across England. From railway arches and converted warehouses to a windmill basement, these producers are redefining what English winemaking looks like, bringing creativity, innovation, and a distinctly modern edge to the glass.

Throughout the evening, you will taste a carefully curated selection of still and sparkling wines, exploring how grapes from English vineyards are transformed in urban environments to create distinctive, characterful wines. Learn about the winemakers behind the bottles, the vineyards they work with, and why city-based wineries are becoming one of the most exciting movements in English wine today.

This tasting is ideal for the curious wine lover, whether you are already a fan of English wine or simply keen to try something new.

Our events are designed for all types of wine drinker, we don't do stuffy tastings at The English Wine Tasting Company! Instead, expect plenty of delicious wines, engaging insights, and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere.

Ticket price includes: 7 wines, crisps and crackers, and a tasting notes booklet.

This tasting event will start at 7.30pm and is expected to last 2 hours, with the option to stay a little longer to socialise and enjoy any remaining wine.

Wine Tasting Events

• Your booking is not secured until payment is fully received – all events must be paid for in advance.
• E-tickets will be sent to your email account once you have paid for your event booking. Remember to check your spam or junk folder if they do not land in your main inbox!
• If you can no longer attend the event, you can cancel your booking by contacting us at [email protected]

Cancellation policy:

1. If you cancel more than 4 weeks before the event, you will be entitled to a refund, or you may transfer your booking to another event, or you may request a 1-year credit which is redeemable against any future event.
2. If you cancel less than 4 weeks but more than 2 weeks before an event, a refund will not be given but you may transfer your booking to another event, or you may request a 1-year credit which is redeemable against any future event.
3. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before an event, a refund will not be given and you will not be entitled to transfer your booking or receive any credit.

• When issuing refunds, we reserve the right to deduct unrecoverable payment processing fees incurred with the booking.
• In the event of 'no-shows' - no refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided.
• On occasion due to unforeseen circumstances we may need to postpone or reschedule an event. If alternative date or a credit is not acceptable, we will refund payment in full. The refund or credit is limited to the value of the event.
• Where circumstances are beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to postpone and reschedule all or part of any course or event and no refunds will be offered.
• We reserve the right to change the venue of any event to one of equal or superior quality, within the same vicinity.
• We reserve the right to make minor changes to the content of the event and the wines sampled.
• We reserve the right to ask any person to leave any event if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable or disruptive to others.
• We reserve the right to stop serving alcohol to anyone who is intoxicated.
