Hosted by the City of Avondale Estates in collaboration with Roots Down and Georgia Tech student researchers, this workshop highlights soil health as the foundation of climate-resilient communities. Participants will explore how healthy soil supports biodiversity, stores carbon, manages stormwater, and improves public health. City staff and research partners will demonstrate how compost, native plants, and regenerative practices restore degraded urban soils and strengthen green spaces.
The session includes hands-on learning, soil health demonstrations, and practical strategies residents can apply in their own yards and community spaces.
This workshop reflects the City’s commitment to building a data-informed, community-driven approach to sustainable land management.
