About this Event
UPDATE: Each Saturday there are 2 classes:
12:00-1:30 - Urban Sketching Class
2:00-3:30 - Figure Drawing Class
* 30 mins break in between is to reach the location of the second class, talk, have some snacks.
I recommend to come for both as they are complementing each other.
Though, it is up to you to visit both or just 1 class!
URBAN SKETCHING:
I noticed that many of my students are making the same mistakes when they draw architecture or interior.
Now I am doing the URBAN SKETCHING Class to teach you perspective, workflow, capturing details and other city elements. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL MY STUDENTS VISIT THIS CLASS, so all of you know (and practice with my supervision!) the important basics!

This class is for those who want to draw for joy!
We meet in Downtown Vancouver. I searched and found wonderful spots to have an excelent urban sketching class! Locations are a matter of change for every lesson, so you gain diverse experiences. There will be a session where I’ll lead you through the whole process. Each lesson includes theoreticalinformation, and a practical part about perspectives, I’ll give you some quick exercises and you'll try a couple of points of view at your own speed.
By the way, we take photos to share on Meetup and Social Media. Take a bunch!
The teacher, Ania Salmina (me), is a professional artist and architect with 20 years of visual art experience. I have a strong academic base in both: painting and graphic techniques.
Can't wait to see you in my class!
The first class (1.5 hours) is by donation.
Starting the second lesson it is $15 for any 1 class
OR
$25 for the full 2-in-1 Saturday session: Urban Sketching + Figure Drawing (3 hours of drawing total).
PROMO: Invite a friend and get a $5 lesson (1.5 hours, your friend should be a new student)!
THINGS TO TAKE WITH YOU:
- Art supplies of your choice. The best option for the 1st lesson would be a pencil + eraser + sketchbook or paper on a sturdy surface (board/book). Instead, you can bring iPad, fineliner pens, gel pen. You can also take a couple of colored pencils or markers.
- Suncream, hat, drinking water, weather appropriate clothes
- (optional) Folding chair to sit on
If you have any questions please contact me through IG @SunShine_roof or [email protected] (messages in this platform often get lost). I also teach private lessons for kids and adults in my studio in Burnaby/online.
