Description: Lake Isaac is a classic early‑summer stop, with open water, shaded trails, and wetland edges that make for relaxed and rewarding birding. The lake often hosts Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Great Egret, and Belted Kingfisher flying back and forth with its sharp, rattling call, while the surrounding woods and thickets add a steady chorus of summer song. Along the trail we may hear Red‑eyed Vireo, Eastern Wood‑Pewee, and Great Crested Flycatcher, with Wood Thrush and Scarlet Tanager possible deeper in the trees. Yellow Warbler and Common Yellowthroat are often active in the edges, and the mix of water, woodland, and open habitat makes Lake Isaac a reliable spot for a wide variety of species in early summer.
