Urban Bird Walk: Creekside Birds & Early Waterfowl Migration
Advertisement
Date & Time: July 25, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
Location: Wildwood Park, 7645 Lakeshore Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44110
Leaders: Nancy Howell and Al Rand
Description: Euclid Creek’s northern section offers a refreshing mix of creekside habitat, mature trees, and open areas influenced by the nearby lake, making it an engaging place for midsummer birding. We may hear Red‑eyed Vireo, Eastern Wood‑Pewee, and Great Crested Flycatcher in the wooded stretches, while open areas and creek edges may bring Eastern Kingbird and Common Yellowthroat. The creek corridor often adds herons, cormorants, or swallows coursing low over the water. With early waterfowl migration beginning to stir on Lake Erie, there’s even a chance of spotting mergansers moving through. The blend of habitats and steady summer activity makes Euclid Creek North a wonderful place to explore urban birding in July.
