The Centerville Arts Commission and City of Centerville are pleased to present a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience this Valentine’s weekend with Uptown Improv featuring TBD: The Improvised Musical! on Saturday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Theatre.
Completely unscripted and created in the moment, TBD: The Improvised Musical! is a full-length musical based entirely on a title suggested by the audience. From that single spark, performers build an unforgettable evening of storytelling filled with big ensemble numbers, heartfelt solos, showstopping moments and moving love songs — all made up on the spot.
Featuring musical improvisers from across Central Ohio, TBD blends quick wit, emotional depth and musical excellence into a performance fans have described as “pure magic.” Adding to the excitement, brilliantly talented local musicians join the cast on stage, becoming characters and shaping the story in real time.
The cast includes Centerville High School graduate Alex Lefeld (’07), Epiphany Players alumni Nathaniel Stevens and Centerville musician Moses Mabarak, bringing local connections and professional talent together for a truly special hometown performance.
Tickets are $10 and are available online at centervilleohio.gov/tickets. Seating is limited and advance purchase is encouraged.
Uptown Improv Workshop:
Earlier in the day, the Uptown Improv Workshop led by the cast of TBD: The Improvised Musical will be offered. The $40, two-hour introductory workshop runs from 3:00–5:00 p.m. on February 14 at Town Hall Theatre and is open to ages 14 and up. You can register for the workshop online at centervilleohio.gov/workshop.
Designed for beginners, the workshop introduces participants to the basics of improvisation through fun, low-pressure games that emphasize listening, teamwork, creativity and responding in the moment. No prior theatre or improv experience is required, and activities encourage confidence and participation without pressure to perform or be funny.
The workshop is limited to 20 participants and requires a minimum of 8 registered participants to be held. Registration and payment are required at the time of registration. Workshop registration includes one ticket to the evening performance, giving participants an opportunity to see the skills they learned used live on stage.
Workshop registration is available online. Registration for the workshop is required and must be completed by February 6.
