Mark Lengyel is a professional dancer, choreographer, and entertainer whose specialty is tap dance and the rhythmic style known as hoofing. Throughout his career, he has performed on stages around the world and alongside some of the entertainment industry’s most respected artists. One of the highlights of his career was being sought out to perform with legendary tap icon Gregory Hines.
Mark’s performance career spans theme parks, touring productions, and live entertainment. At Walt Disney World, he portrayed beloved Disney characters and performed as a parade dancer. At Universal Orlando Resort, he was a featured tap performer in the original production Gen X, portrayed Wolfie in the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue, performed as a tap entertainer at Universal CityWalk, and entertained guests as a stilt walker in numerous parades and special events.
His touring credits include six years as Globie, the official mascot of the Harlem Globetrotters, performing in more than 20 countries around the world. He also portrayed Grover in the Sesame Street Live National Tour and toured as a balloon artist and stilt walker on the Jimmy Buffett Tour, bringing interactive entertainment to audiences nationwide.
As a choreographer, Mark has created numerous award-winning competition dance pieces, earning Best Choreography Awards at regional and national competitions. His choreography credits include NBA and NFL halftime shows, the Universal Studios Blues Brothers Show, the NSYNC Charity Basketball Challenge, and countless performances for competitive dance studios throughout the United States. In addition to choreographing, Mark has served as a judge and adjudicator for numerous regional and national dance competitions, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Today, Mark continues to share his passion for tap dance by teaching workshops and master classes throughout the United States. He is a faculty member at Rhythms Dance in Duncan, South Carolina, and performs nationwide with his tap and percussion ensemble, Street Beatz, whose performances have been featured on America’s Got Talent.
