Join our special Seniors program for the COTA Upstaging Festival in Canberra. NatureArt Lab is offering six nature-focused programs including nature journalling, watercolour and drawing activities. Nature Journalling at Aranda Bushland with Julia Landford
Join Julia Landford for an introduction to nature journalling. Visit a special nature location at Aranda Bushland to see a dry sclerophyll forest habitat in Canberra. The local community led by Friends of Aranda Bushland is involved in helping to protect this area with weeding activities, working parties and looking after trails.
Learn about observational sketching, mindfulness and create your own nature journal pages about this urban nature habitat.
Develop simple colour studies using colour pencil, watercolour, ink pens and graphite pencil.
Record your observations of plants and wildlife for this area.
Get involved with local community conservation activities in our city.
Start a wonderful lifelong journey with nature journalling!
Time/Date: 10.00am - 12.30pm, Thursday 26 March
Location: Aranda Bushland (specific meeting details will be provided prior to the event).
Materials: A visual art diary and pen will be provided for each participant. Our tutor will bring art supplies including watercolours, pens, pencils for use during the session.
About our tutor:
Julia Landford is a passionate nature journaller, nature lover and Founding Director of NatureArt Lab. She is the founder of the Australian Nature Journalling Association (ANJA), and her work aims to promote engagement with nature through creative practices.
