Come and spend Labour Day on a working sheep station.
The Upper Clutha A&P Society is opening the gates at Hillend Station for a free family afternoon on the farm. Feed a pet lamb, watch the dogs work, climb on a tractor, and see the skill of a sheep shorn in the woolshed.
What's On:
🚜 Tractor and trailer rides from 11.00am
🐑 Shearing display and the wool story at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm (limited viewing capacity for each session)
🐕 Working dog display at 12pm and 1pm
🐏 Pet lambs, ewes and other animals to meet and feed
🌾 Hay bale climbing and pedal tractors from Claas Harvest Centre Wanaka
🍔 BBQ, ice cream and a coffee cart available for purchase
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
One ticket per person is required, including for children and youth.
Bring a picnic, a drink bottle and your own cup for the coffee cart.
A few things worth knowing before you come along:
This is a working farm, so wear closed-in shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen.
Children need to stay with an adult the whole time. There is stock and machinery on site.
Please leave the dog at home. There are working dogs and sheep here
