This virtual institute is designed for middle and high school educators, administrators, and program leaders who are developing or refining dual language and biliteracy programs at the secondary level. Whether you're launching a new program or expanding an existing one, this interactive session provides practical tools, research-based insights, and collaborative planning opportunities.
This two-day institute includes:
- A clear vision for dual language and biliteracy at the secondary context
- Key elements and structures of effective secondary biliteracy instruction including, language and content allocation plan, biliteracy schedules, and biliteracy curriculum maps
- Sample instructional practices across content areas
- How to implement the Bridge between languages and bridging at the secondary level
- Strategies for supporting bilingual learners
- Practical approaches to advocacy and sustainability

Format & Schedule:This is a two-day, live Zoom session.
- March 4-5, 2026
- 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Central Time, each day
- Includes interactive presentations, small group discussions, and hands-on planning
It is best if each participant joins from their own device to fully participate in breakout rooms and interactive elements. If this is not possible, please let us know so that we can prepare appropriately.

- One week before the event, you will receive an email that includes the interactive agenda that will be referenced throughout the live session and the Zoom links for each day. Please reach out to us if you do not receive the welcome email.
