About this Event
Join us and learn, step-by-step, how to design and make beautiful new vintage-style jewellery pieces out of old jewellery and a minimum of new components.
Do you own an old piece of jewellery that has the potential to be something more wearable, but currently isn't working? Perhaps it's a piece with sentimental value, or something you found in a charity shop that needs to be remodelled?
You will learn how to dismantle old jewellery pieces using snipe nose and flat nose pliers and cutters; assemble new pieces using wires (and in some cases glue); attach new beads and chains, etc using jump rings and fittings from other jewellery.
This relaxed pace, small group workshop is suitable for beginners and all skill levels.
We will provide:
- old jewellery pieces (but please bring your own if you can)
- all tools and materials
- step-by-step instruction
- hot drinks and biscuits (organic)
What to bring
- any pieces of costume jewellery (whole or broken) that you would like to upcycle
- snipe nose & flat nose pliers and cutters if you have them (if not, we'll have plenty available to borrow or buy)
- £20 cash if you would like to buy a small set of jeweller's tools (a jump ring opener, 3 in 1 pliers and a metal file) to take home with you
