Join us to make upcycled belts and aprons for our hardworking volunteer gardeners at Stretford Community Dye Garden! Our volunteers tell us that they need some practical belts to stow away tools, seeds etc, whilst working on the Garden.
So we thought, why not make some from that most hardwearing of materials - denim!
On the day, we'll look at some examples, and hear what SCDG volunteers want from their aprons. Based on that, you'll come up with your own denim apron idea, then dive into our stash of recycled textiles and hardware and make it happen!
We'll have hand sewing equipment, sewing machines, threads and all the equipment you need. Plus our tutors will be on hand to help with bringing your creations to life.
PLEASE NOTE that the aim of this workshop is to make aprons for Stretford Community Dye Garden, so you won't get to keep the apron that you make. But you will be making a valued contribution to the SCDG project, by providing a useful resource for our volunteer gardeners to use. And the skills and ideas you pick up might even inspire you to make your own at home!
