Hear about the businesses and families who once lived along the Menomonee River, from the Sugar Beet Factory down to the Lime Kilns. Local history expert Jill Schmidt, will take us from Water Street to Main Street, and share stories about the Gettelman and Monitor Hotel, the historic Menomonee Falls lumber yards, blacksmith John Huberty, the Third Street bridge, and Garwin Mace, our villages first President and Millionaire!
This event is part of Recollections, a series of programs related to Menomonee Falls history and beyond. Stay on the lookout for more events on our website and future issues of Storyteller.
