About the Program
What can a rifle tell us about Chicopee 190 years ago? Quite a bit!
For the first time in 23 years, one of the best preserved antebellum rifles will be on public display at the Chicopee Public Library. Join us for a lecture on the life of its engraver, Richard Bates Inshaw, followed by the unveiling of the display case.
Venue and Parking
Find us in the Bazan Community Room, on the lower level of the Chicopee Public Library.
Free parking is available in the library lot at 449 Front Street. On-street parking is also available along Ames Avenue and Front and Bell Streets.
About the Chicopee Historical Society
The Chicopee Historical Society is a non-profit dedicated to the rediscovery and preservation of Chicopee's history. In pursuit of this mission, the Society preserves artifacts related to the city's history and presents six educational programs in Spring and Fall. We rely on donations and the support of our members and volunteers to do this work.
